Clarity Blue Flax Lily
Dianella ‘Clarity Blue’
Dianella 'Clarity Blue™' (PP27,348) is a striking, compact evergreen perennial prized for its bold, blue-gray foliage and delicate, star-shaped blue flowers followed by glossy, purple berries. This Australian native forms a dense, clumping fountain of stiff, upright, strappy, powder-blue to gray-green leaves that provide year-round architectural interest and a cool, calming color contrast in the landscape. In late spring through summer, it produces slender, branched flower stalks rising above the foliage, bearing small, star-shaped, deep blue to violet flowers, followed by small, round, glossy, deep purple berries that attract birds. Exceptionally drought-tolerant once established, heat tolerant, and adaptable to a range of well-drained soils, it is an outstanding choice for borders, mass plantings, containers, rock gardens, coastal gardens, and as a colorful, low-maintenance ground cover.
