Javelin Deep Purple Spanish Lavender
Lavandula stoechas Javelin ‘Deep Purple’
Lavandula stoechas 'Javelin Deep Purple' is a compact, evergreen shrub prized for its exceptionally rich, dark purple flower heads and distinctive upright bracts. This Spanish Lavender cultivar features linear, gray-green, aromatic foliage that forms a dense, tidy mound. From mid-spring through summer, it produces an abundance of plump, rounded flower spikes packed with tiny, deep violet-purple flowers, each topped with showy, upright, sterile bracts (flags) in a striking royal purple, resembling rabbit ears. The flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. With its neat, compact size, excellent tolerance for heat, drought, and deer, and its long blooming season, it is an outstanding choice for low hedges, borders, rock gardens, containers, and as a fragrant accent in Mediterranean and coastal gardens.
