Miner's Gold Mat Rush
Lomandra longifolia ‘Miner’s Gold'
Lomandra longifolia 'Miner's Gold' is a stunning, grass-like perennial prized for its vibrant, golden-yellow to lime-green foliage and exceptional toughness. This Australian native forms a dense, fountain-like clump of arching, strappy, glossy leaves that retain their bright, cheerful color year-round. In late spring through summer, it produces small, fragrant, yellow flowers in spiky clusters (inflorescences) hidden within the foliage, attracting bees and other pollinators. Extremely drought tolerant, heat tolerant, and adaptable to a wide range of conditions (including wet soils, coastal exposure, and poor soils), it is also deer resistant and low-maintenance. An outstanding choice for mass plantings, borders, erosion control on slopes, containers, and as a colorful accent in both modern and water-wise gardens.
