Jelly Bean Monkeyflower
Mimulus aurantiacus, Diplacus aurantiacus
Mimulus 'Jelly Bean' Series is a charming, semi-evergreen perennial prized for its profusion of frilly, funnel-shaped flowers and compact, rounded form. This California native selection forms a tidy, upright subshrub with small, slender, dark green, sticky (glandular) leaves that are aromatic when brushed. From spring through fall, it produces an abundance of showy, two-lipped, lobed flowers in a vibrant range of colors, including red, pink, deep pink, white, and orange, creating a long-lasting, cheerful display that attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Exceptionally drought-tolerant once established, adaptable to various garden conditions, and low-maintenance, it is an outstanding choice for sunny borders, rock gardens, containers, and water-wise landscapes.
