Mondo Grass
Liriope, lily Turf
Mondo Grass is a classic evergreen ground cover valued for its tidy, grass-like foliage and dependable performance in a wide range of garden settings. Its dense, low-growing habit creates a clean, uniform look that works equally well in traditional, modern, and Asian-inspired landscapes.
This adaptable plant performs especially well in partial shade, making it a popular choice for areas beneath trees, along walkways, and around structures. In summer, small pale lavender flowers may appear, followed by decorative dark berries that add subtle seasonal interest.
Well suited to California gardens, Mondo Grass prefers well-draining soil and consistent moisture during establishment. Once established, it is low maintenance and provides year-round structure and texture with minimal upkeep.
