Belle of Dawn Border Penstemon

Penstemon ‘Belle of Dawn’

Penstemon 'Belle of Dawn' (syn. Penstemon gloxinioides 'Belle of Dawn') is a striking, long-blooming perennial prized for its large, trumpet-shaped, rose-purple flowers with contrasting white throats. This hybrid penstemon forms an upright, bushy clump of slender, lance-shaped, glossy, medium green leaves. From late spring through summer, and often into early fall, it produces tall, sturdy spikes bearing an abundance of showy, tubular, two-lipped flowers in a rich, rose-purple to lavender-pink hue with a prominent, pale white to cream throat, creating a vibrant, eye-catching display that attracts hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Exceptionally drought-tolerant, heat-tolerant, and deer-resistant, it is an outstanding choice for sunny borders, perennial beds, rock gardens, Mediterranean gardens, containers, and pollinator gardens.
