Oklahoma Rose
Rosa ‘Oklahoma’
Rosa 'Oklahoma' is a legendary hybrid tea rose, world-famous for its intensely fragrant, velvety, deep crimson to near-black blooms. Introduced by Herbert C. Swim and O.L. Weeks in 1964 as a seedling of 'Chrysler Imperial', this award-winning rose produces very large, high-centered, fully double flowers with 45-50 petals of the richest, darkest red, often appearing almost black in the heat of summer . The blooms emit an exceptionally strong, classic old-rose fragrance that is considered one of the finest of all roses . With its tall, upright, bushy habit, excellent disease resistance, and repeat flowering from late spring through fall, it is an outstanding choice for cut flowers, mixed borders, hedges, and as a dramatic garden specimen.
