Irush Eyes Gloriosa Daisy
Rudbeckia ‘Irush Eyes’
Rudbeckia hirta 'Irish Eyes' is a charming, short-lived perennial (often grown as an annual) prized for its cheerful, golden-yellow daisy flowers with a distinctive, emerald-green "eye" instead of the traditional black cone . This unique selection of the native black-eyed Susan produces an abundance of large, golden-yellow ray florets surrounding a prominent, pale green to olive-green central disc that ages to yellow-brown as the disc florets open . Blooming profusely from midsummer through early autumn (July to October) , it attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators while providing excellent, long-lasting cut flowers . With its fast growth rate, adaptability to various soil conditions, and tolerance for both short dry spells and wet periods, it is an outstanding choice for summer bedding, wildflower gardens, mixed borders, cottage gardens, containers, and cutting gardens .
