Armeria alliacea

Armeria alliacea is a charming, evergreen perennial prized for its bright, grassy foliage and profuse, rounded clusters of soft pink flowers that rise above the leaves on slender stems. This clumping perennial forms a dense, tufted mound of smooth, narrow, bright green, grass-like leaves (broader at the base, forming a rosette). From spring through summer, and often into early fall with deadheading, it produces an abundance of small, globe-shaped flower heads (similar to thrift or sea pink) in soft pink to lavender hues, creating a long-lasting, airy display that attracts butterflies and other pollinators. The foliage and flowers have a subtle garlic-like scent when crushed. Exceptionally drought-tolerant once established, deer resistant, and adaptable to a range of well-drained soils, it is an outstanding choice for rock gardens, borders, edging, containers, and dry gardens.
