Bowles' Mauve Wallflower
Erysimum ‘Bowles’ mauve
Erysimum 'Bowles' Mauve' is a beloved, long-blooming evergreen perennial prized for its profuse clusters of fragrant, lavender-mauve flowers and tidy, upright habit. This popular wallflower forms a bushy, sub-shrubby mound of narrow, linear, gray-green leaves that provide a soft, textural backdrop. From late winter through spring and often into summer, it produces an abundance of small, four-petaled, sweetly fragrant flowers in a soft, cool lavender-mauve hue, attracting bees, butterflies, and other early-season pollinators. Exceptionally drought-tolerant once established, deer resistant, and adaptable to a range of well-drained soils, it is an outstanding choice for sunny borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, coastal gardens, containers, and mass plantings.
