Bev Jensen Border Penstemon
Penstemon gloxinioides ‘Bev Jensen’
Penstemon 'Bev Jensen' (syn. Penstemon gloxinioides 'Bev Jensen') is a stunning, long-blooming perennial prized for its large, trumpet-shaped, rose-pink to magenta flowers with contrasting white throats. This hybrid penstemon forms an upright, bushy clump of slender, lance-shaped, glossy, medium green leaves. From late spring through summer, and often into early fall, it produces tall, sturdy spikes bearing an abundance of showy, tubular, two-lipped flowers in a vibrant, deep rose-pink to magenta hue with a prominent, pure white throat, creating a vivid, eye-catching display that attracts hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Exceptionally drought-tolerant, heat-tolerant, and deer-resistant, it is an outstanding choice for sunny borders, perennial beds, rock gardens, Mediterranean gardens, containers, and pollinator gardens.
