Anah Kruschke Rhododendron
Rhododendron ‘Anah Kruschke’
Rhododendron 'Anah Kruschke' is a striking, evergreen shrub prized for its large trusses of vivid purple-red flowers and exceptional performance in mild climates like Northern California. This cold-hardy hybrid forms a dense, upright, rounded mound of large, leathery, elliptic, medium to dark green leaves that remain attractive year-round. In mid to late spring, it produces impressive, rounded trusses of broadly funnel-shaped, wavy-edged flowers in a rich, deep purplish-red to magenta with prominent dark maroon to brown spotting in the throat, creating a dramatic, intense display. With outstanding reliability, good cold tolerance (to -15°F), and adaptability to a range of conditions, it is an excellent choice for foundation plantings, woodland gardens, shaded borders, informal hedges, mass plantings, and as a specimen plant.
