Mesa Azure Blue Mesa Sage
Salvia greggii ‘Mesa Azure’
Salvia greggii 'Mesa Azure' is a compact, semi-evergreen shrub prized for its airy, light purple-blue flowers and long bloom season. This fine-textured sage forms a low, open, mounding shrub of small, oval, textured, aromatic, bright green leaves. From spring through fall, it produces an abundance of upright, slender stalks bearing dainty, two-lipped, tubular flowers in a soft, clear light purple to azure blue, creating a delicate, airy display. The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. With its compact size, excellent heat and drought tolerance once established, deer resistance, and exceptionally long bloom season, it is an outstanding choice for sunny borders, rock gardens, containers, mass plantings, and water-wise landscapes.
