Nuevo Leon Autumn Sage
Salvia greggii ‘Nuevo Leon’
Salvia greggii 'Nuevo Leon' (also known as Salvia coahuilensis) is a semi-evergreen, low-growing perennial prized for its abundant, bright violet flowers and sprawling, shrubby habit. This fine-textured sage forms a low, bushy, spreading mound of small, narrow, aromatic, green leaves. From summer through fall, it produces an abundance of upright, slender stems bearing dainty, two-lipped, tubular flowers in a vivid, bright violet to magenta-purple, creating a colorful, long-lasting display. The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Very similar in flower color to the popular 'Purple' autumn sage, it is an excellent choice for sunny borders, rock gardens, slopes, mass plantings, containers, and water-wise
