Goodwin Creek Gray Lavender
Lavandula ginginsii ‘Goodwin Creek Gray’
Lavandula ginginsii 'Goodwin Creek Gray' is a distinctive, evergreen shrub prized for its finely textured, silvery-gray foliage and tall, dense spikes of deep violet-purple flowers. This unique lavender forms a compact, bushy mound of narrow, linear, aromatic leaves that are subtly toothed (reminiscent of French lavender), with a soft, silvery-gray color that provides exceptional contrast in the garden. From late spring through summer, it produces long, sturdy, densely packed flower spikes topped with small, tubular, deep violet-purple blossoms, attracting bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. Even when not in bloom, the intensely fragrant foliage releases a strong, classic lavender scent when brushed. With excellent tolerance for heat, drought, deer, and poor, well-drained soils, and its naturally dense, upright habit, it is an outstanding choice for low hedges (formal or informal), borders, rock gardens, Mediterranean gardens, and containers.
