Q: Does it need staking?
A: The flower stems are typically very strong and do not require staking, especially when grown in full sun. In too much shade or overly rich soil, they may become leggy and benefit from support.

Q: How do I manage such a large plant?
A: Give it plenty of space (3+ feet wide). After flowering, cut spent stems to the base. Every few years, after flowering, large clumps can be carefully divided in autumn to rejuvenate them.
