Frosty Curls Hair Sedge is a uniquely textural and ornamental grass that adds movement and a soft, frosted appearance to the garden. Its incredibly fine, hair-like leaves are a silvery-green with curled tips, creating a dense, mop-headed clump that sways gracefully in the breeze. The overall effect is one of softness and whimsy. Q: How do I groom it?
A: It requires minimal grooming. In late winter or early spring, put on gloves and gently comb through the clump with your fingers to remove any dead, brown foliage from the center. You can also give the entire plant a "haircut" to 4-6 inches if it looks tired, and it will quickly regenerate.

Q: Will it self-seed?
A: Carex comans can self-seed moderately under ideal conditions. To prevent unwanted seedlings, you can remove the insignificant flower spikes when they appear or simply pull up any unwanted seedlings that sprout. The cultivar 'Frosty Curls' may be less prolific than the straight species.
