Description

Armstrong Red Maple is an exceptional, fastigiate (columnar) cultivar of the Silver Maple. It soars to great heights while maintaining an extremely narrow footprint, making it unparalleled for creating a tall screen or vertical accent in the tightest of spaces, such as side yards or along property lines.

  • Grows in an extremely narrow, columnar form, often only 10-15 feet wide even at 50+ feet tall.

  • Fast-growing, providing quick height for privacy or windbreaks.

  • Foliage is typical of Silver Maple, turning yellow to red in fall. It is more tolerant of drought and poor soil than many maples.

  • Note: Like most silver maples, its roots can be aggressive; plant away from sewer lines and foundations.
