Description

Terracotta Yarrow is a standout perennial in the renowned 'New Vintage' series, prized for its unique, warm-toned blooms and exceptionally tidy, non-flopping habit. Its flat-topped clusters of flowers emerge in captivating shades of soft peach, terracotta, and dusty pink, maturing to creamy beige, creating a beautiful multi-toned effect. Combined with its feathery, aromatic gray-green foliage and upright, sturdy stems, this plant offers long-lasting color, superb structure, and effortless care, making it a top choice for sunny, low-maintenance gardens and stunning cut or dried flower arrangements.

Warm Terracotta-to-Cream Flower Clusters: Produces large, flat umbels of tiny flowers that bloom in unique, warm shades of peach, terracotta, and pink, gradually fading to soft cream, providing dynamic color interest.
Exceptional Upright, Non-Flopping Habit: Part of the improved 'New Vintage' series, it features strong, upright stems that reliably hold the flower clusters aloft without collapsing, even after rain.
Feathery, Aromatic Foliage: Features finely dissected, fern-like, gray-green leaves that are aromatic when crushed and provide fine texture in the garden year-round.
Long Blooming and Excellent for Cutting: Flowers from early to late summer. The sturdy, long stems and long-lasting blooms make it perfect for fresh bouquets and for drying.
Extremely Tough and Low Maintenance: Thrives in full sun and poor, dry, well-drained soil. It is highly drought-tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant, and attracts pollinators.

Quick Facts

Faqs

Q: How do I encourage more blooms?
A: Deadheading (removing spent flower clusters) is highly recommended. Cut the flower stem back to a side bud or to the base foliage. This not only keeps the plant looking neat but often stimulates a second, lighter flush of blooms in late summer or fall.

Q: Does it spread aggressively?
A: Common yarrow (Achillea millefolium) can spread vigorously by rhizomes. While the 'New Vintage' series cultivars are generally better-behaved and more clump-forming than the species, they may still spread moderately. To control spread, divide the clump every 2-3 years in spring or fall, or plant it in a location where it has room to naturalize.
