Description

Hemerocallis 'Happy Returns' is a beloved, award-winning daylily prized for its exceptionally long bloom season, prolific, soft lemon-yellow flowers, and compact, reblooming habit. This deciduous perennial forms a tidy clump of strap-like, bright green, grassy foliage that remains attractive throughout the growing season. From late spring through summer, and often into early fall, it produces an abundance of slender, smooth scapes (flower stems) bearing fragrant, 3-3.5 inch wide, lily-shaped blooms in a soft, pale lemon-yellow hue with slightly ruffled edges, creating a long-lasting, cheerful display that attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. A classic rebloomer that lives up to its name, it is exceptionally easy to grow, adaptable to a wide range of conditions, drought-tolerant once established, and deer resistant, making it an outstanding choice for borders, edging, mass plantings, rock gardens, containers, and as a colorful ground cover.
