Faqs

Q: What are its soil and drainage requirements?
A: It must have perfectly drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil. It is highly susceptible to root rot in heavy, wet, or clay soils. Plant in raised beds or mounds and amend heavily with gritty material like pumice or coarse sand.

Q: How cold hardy is it?
A: It is best suited to milder climates. It can tolerate light frosts (down to about 20-25°F) but may suffer damage in a hard freeze. In Zone 9a, it is generally reliable in frost-free coastal areas but may need protection in colder inland microclimates.
