Description

Lotus maculatus 'Gold Flash' is a stunning, trailing perennial prized for its brilliant, bi-colored golden-orange and red flowers and soft, silvery-green, needle-like foliage. Native to the Canary Islands, this fast-growing, cascading plant forms a dense, spreading mat of fine, fuzzy, gray-green leaves that are exceptionally soft to the touch. From spring through summer, it produces an abundance of unique, claw-like, parrot's beak-shaped flowers in vibrant golden-orange with striking red tips, creating a spectacular, tropical display that attracts hummingbirds, bees, and other pollinators. Exceptionally drought-tolerant once established, heat-tolerant, and low-maintenance, it is an outstanding choice for hanging baskets, containers, cascading over walls, rock gardens, and as a colorful ground cover in frost-free climates.
