Description

Moneywort Creeper Gold is a fast-spreading, low-growing groundcover with glowing chartreuse-to-golden foliage. It forms a dense mat that softens edges, fills gaps, and cascades beautifully from pots, raised beds, and retaining walls. Small yellow flowers may appear in late spring to summer, but the real show is the foliage color.

Faqs

Is Moneywort Creeper Gold the same as Creeping Jenny?
Yes. Moneywort is a common name, and ‘Aurea’ is the golden-leaf form often sold as Golden Creeping Jenny.

Will it stay bright gold in shade?
It can grow in shade, but the foliage usually shifts more lime-green. More sun generally means stronger golden color.

Can I grow it in pots or hanging baskets?
Absolutely. It’s one of the best “spiller” plants and trails nicely over edges.

Does it like wet soil?
Yes. It performs very well in consistently moist soils and can handle damp areas better than many groundcovers.

Is it deer resistant?
It’s often listed as deer tolerant, but no plant is completely deer-proof.

How do I keep it from spreading too far?
Trim runners regularly and plant in contained areas. Edging, barriers, or container planting make control easy.
