Description

Nerium Oleander 'Sister Agnes', White Oleander is a classic, elegant selection that lights up the summer garden with its pure white, fragrant blossoms. It is often the largest and most vigorous of the common color forms, capable of becoming a substantial evergreen shrub or small tree. Its clean white flowers with yellow centers provide a cooling contrast to its dark green foliage and other brightly colored plants. Sharing the same legendary toughness as other oleanders, it is an outstanding choice for a tall, fragrant, and low-maintenance screen in the most demanding sunny locations.

  • Classic Pure White Blooms: Bears large clusters of crisp white flowers with a yellow eye, emitting a sweet fragrance, from late spring through fall.

  • Vigorous & Large Growth Habit: The largest common cultivar, often growing 10-18 feet tall and wide, making it suitable for training as a small evergreen tree.

  • Unmatched Environmental Toughness: Excellently adapted to extreme heat, drought, poor soil, salt spray, and urban pollution.

  • Bright, Cooling Visual Effect: The white flowers provide luminosity in the garden, especially effective in moonlight or when planted against dark backgrounds.

  • Important Caution: All parts of the plant are extremely poisonous if ingested. Handle with care and plant responsibly.

Faqs

Q: Can it be grown as a single-trunk tree?
A: Yes. To train it into a tree form, select one to three of the strongest, straightest stems and prune away all other lower shoots as the plant grows. Continue to remove suckers from the base. Its natural upright habit makes this quite feasible.

Q: Is it messy?
A: It is relatively low-litter. Spent flower clusters can be deadheaded for a tidier appearance, but they often fall cleanly. The evergreen leaves drop gradually throughout the year.
