Description

Pink Rockrose is a delicate-looking yet incredibly tough shrub that brings a soft, romantic haze of color to the water-wise garden. In late spring, its gently arching branches are smothered in masses of small, pale pink, saucer-shaped flowers with yellow centers. The overall effect is one of airy, cloud-like softness. Combined with its fuzzy, gray-green foliage and low, spreading habit, it creates a beautiful, billowing groundcover that is remarkably resilient to drought, heat, and poor soil, asking for nothing but sunshine in return.

  • Clouds of Soft Pink Flowers: Covered in an immense quantity of small, delicate, clear pink blooms that create a soft, romantic display.

  • Billowing, Soft Textured Habit: Grows into a gracefully mounding and spreading shrub (2-3 ft tall, 4-6 ft wide) with a fine, airy texture.

  • Soft, Fuzzy Foliage: Features small, oval, gray-green leaves covered in fine hairs, giving the plant a soft, silvery appearance and enhancing its drought tolerance.

  • Remarkably Drought & Heat Tolerant: Once established, it requires little to no supplemental water, thriving in intense sun and reflected heat.

  • Beautiful Dry Garden Filler: Perfect for softening the edges of paths, spilling over rocky outcrops, or filling large swaths of a Mediterranean or cottage-style dry garden.

Faqs

Q: Is it shorter-lived than other shrubs?
A: Rockroses in general have a typical lifespan of 5-7 years, though they can live longer in perfect conditions. Their rapid growth, easy propagation from cuttings, and spectacular performance make them invaluable even as short-lived perennials in a dry garden.

Q: How can I keep it looking its best?
A: Ensure it has perfect drainage and full sun. Avoid overhead watering and fertilizing. A light shearing after the main bloom period can help maintain a compact shape and encourage a tidier form.
