How tall is a 5- or 15-gallon plant?

There is no single height. A spreading shrub, compact maple and upright screening tree can look very different in the same container. Use the individual listing and current nursery measurements when height is important.

Is a larger size always a better choice?

No. Larger plants offer more initial presence, while smaller starts may suit your budget, access or willingness to wait. Compare the same variety, your available space and the total cost of getting it planted.

Does a gallon label mean an exact volume?

It is a nursery size category. Container dimensions and actual volume can vary by grower and manufacturer. Do not use the label alone to calculate soil volume or lifting weight.

What do Multi and Standard mean?

These describe plant form. Multi generally means multiple trunks or main stems; Standard generally describes a single trunk with a raised canopy. They are separate from container size. Confirm the form shown for the particular plant you are ordering.

Are all of these sizes available for every plant?
