The Akebono Yoshino Cherry is a vision of spring softness. It covers itself in a haze of delicate, single, shell-pink blossoms that seem to glow in the morning light. More tolerant of warmer winters than some cherries, it can be a good choice for certain Bay Area locations, offering the classic, graceful Yoshino form with a uniquely warm pink hue.

• Clouds of soft, clear shell-pink, single flowers blanket the tree in early spring before the leaves fully expand, creating an ethereal effect.

• Develops the classic, elegant Yoshino form: a spreading, umbrella-like crown with graceful, ascending branches.

• Shows good tolerance to warmer climates compared to other flowering cherries, potentially succeeding in milder winter areas of Zone 9a with proper site selection.

• Foliage emerges bronze, turns green, and provides modest yellow-bronze fall color.

• Its lighter pink color offers a beautiful alternative to the pure white of the traditional Yoshino.
