Description

Netleaf Oak is a striking and architectural evergreen oak, prized for its unique, deeply veined leaves that resemble a raised net pattern. This slow-growing, drought-tolerant tree from the southwestern U.S. and Mexico offers exceptional texture and a formal, columnar to broad-pyramidal form, making it a distinctive specimen for a water-wise garden.

  • Grown for its extraordinary foliage: dark green, leathery leaves with deeply impressed veinsthat create a pronounced “netleaf” texture on both sides.

  • Develops a strong, upright, and densely branched form, often more narrow and formal than many native live oaks.

  • Highly drought and heat tolerant once established, and adaptable to a variety of well-drained soils.

  • A superb choice for adding sophisticated, year-round structure and unique foliage interest to a Mediterranean or xeriscape garden.

Q: How fast does it grow?
A: It is slow-growing, especially when young. Patience is required, but it results in a strong, well-structured tree that is a permanent asset.
