Description
Miss Kim Korean Lilac is a superior, compact shrub perfect for smaller gardens or warm-winter areas where common lilacs struggle. It blooms slightly later in spring with abundant clusters of fragrant, pale lavender-pink flowers. Its small, glossy green leaves turn a gorgeous burgundy-red in fall, providing multi-season interest. Notably resistant to powdery mildew and requiring fewer winter chill hours, it is an excellent, low-maintenance alternative to common lilacs for milder climates.
-
Compact & Manageable Size: Grows slowly into a neat, rounded mound, typically 4-9 feet tall and wide, fitting well in modern landscapes.
-
Fragrant Late Spring Blooms: Produces profuse, sweetly scented clusters of pale lavender-pink flowers in late spring, after most common lilacs.
-
Outstanding Fall Foliage: Leaves turn a striking, long-lasting wine-red to burgundy color in autumn.
-
Excellent Disease Resistance: Highly resistant to powdery mildew, a common problem for many lilacs.
-
Adapted to Warmer Climates: Requires significantly fewer winter chill hours than common lilacs, making it a reliable bloomer in Zone 9a and other mild-winter regions.
