Yucca aloifolia 'Blue Boy' is a striking, evergreen succulent shrub prized for its dramatic, sword-like, blue-green foliage and compact, upright form. This smaller selection of the Spanish Bayonet features dense rosettes of stiff, narrow, sharp-tipped leaves in a cool, deep blue-green hue, with attractive chestnut-red new growth in spring . In late spring to midsummer, mature plants send up tall, branching flower spikes bearing large, pendulous, bell-shaped, creamy-white blooms that add a spectacular, tropical flair . Exceptionally drought, heat, salt, and deer tolerant, and one of the hardier yuccas for cold climates, it is an outstanding choice for xeriscape, rock, and coastal gardens, as a barrier plant, or as a dramatic focal point in containers.
