Description

Twombly’s Red Sentinel Japanese Maple is a unique, narrowly columnar cultivar. It grows upright with minimal spreading, making it ideal for tight spaces where horizontal room is limited. It provides rich red to burgundy foliage and red winter stems in a tall, slender form.

Grows in a distinctly narrow, fastigiate (columnar) habit, resembling a red sentinel or exclamation point in the landscape.
Foliage is red when new, matures to a deep wine-red, and turns crimson in fall.
An excellent solution for adding vertical interest, creating a screen in a narrow side yard, or planting in a row along a fence.
Much more tolerant of sun than many dissected-leaf maples due to its leaf structure.
