Description

Shishi Gashira Camellia is one of the most popular and dependable Sasanquas, known for its exceptional fall-to-winter bloom, compact size, and spreading habit. It is smothered in small to medium, semi-double, deep rose-pink flowers. It is also valued for its dense, ground-hugging form, which makes it an excellent choice for erosion control on slopes, as a wide, low hedge, or as a foundation plant. Note: The name is often misspelled as "Shishigashira."

  • Prolific Fall & Winter Bloomer: Covered in a long-lasting display of rose-pink flowers from October through January.

  • Low, Spreading Habit: Grows wider than tall (4-5 ft tall, 6-8 ft wide), creating excellent coverage.

  • Extremely Dense & Twiggy: The dense growth makes it superb for slopes, mass plantings, and low, informal hedges.

  • Sun Tolerant & Tough: Adapts well to various conditions and is very disease resistant.

  • Garden Workhorse: A versatile, reliable, and highly ornamental shrub for many landscape uses.
