Description

Autumn Fire Encore Azalea is a robust, multi-season blooming shrub that extends the azalea show beyond spring. It produces a heavy flush of vibrant, true red, semi-double flowers in spring, then reliably reblooms in summer and fall. Its glossy, dark green foliage may take on bronze hues in winter. This compact, well-branched evergreen thrives in the filtered light of woodland gardens and is a standout for adding long-lasting color to shady borders, foundations, or containers.

  • Three Seasons of Blooms: Flowers profusely in spring, then repeats reliably in summer and fall with vibrant red, semi-double blooms.

  • Compact & Dense Habit: Maintains a neat, rounded, and densely branched form, reaching 2-3 feet tall and wide.

  • Extended Garden Color: Part of the Encore series, specifically bred for reliable reblooming, significantly extending the azalea flowering season.

  • Shade Loving & Acid Needing: Prefers partial to full shade and must have acidic, well-drained soil amended with organic matter.

  • Low Maintenance: Requires minimal pruning; simply deadhead spent flowers to encourage the next bloom cycle.

Faqs

Q: How do I ensure successful reblooming?
A: Provide consistent moisture (never soggy), apply a fertilizer for acid-loving plants in early spring and again after the first bloom, and ensure it's planted in adequate shade (morning sun/afternoon shade is ideal). Avoid heavy pruning.

Q: Is it deer resistant?
A: Azaleas are not deer resistant and are often favored by deer. Protection or deterrents may be necessary in areas with high deer pressure.
