Description

Happy Wanderer Lilac Vine is a charming and resilient evergreen climber that brings a welcome splash of early-season color. In late winter to spring, when the garden is just awakening, it becomes adorned with prolific, pendulous clusters of sweet pea-shaped flowers in a vibrant violet-purple. Its twining stems and dense, leathery foliage make it an excellent choice for softening fences, covering trellises, or scrambling over banks. Tough, drought-tolerant once established, and a favorite of pollinators, it lives up to its name as a cheerful and wandering garden companion.

Faqs

Q: How fast does it grow and how do I support it?
A: It has a moderate growth rate. To encourage climbing, provide a trellis, wire grid, or other open support for its stems to twine around. Initial guidance with soft ties may be helpful.

Q: Can it grow in shade?
A: It flowers best in full sun but will tolerate partial shade. In too much shade, flowering will be reduced, and the plant may become leggy.
