Faqs

Q: How large does Lavender Chiffon® Rose of Sharon get?
A: It is a medium to large deciduous shrub, typically reaching 10-12 feet in height and 6 feet in spread at maturity.

Q: What makes the flowers unique?
A: The flowers are large and anemone-like, with a distinctive ruffled, double center that resembles delicate chiffon fabric, set against soft lavender-pink petals.

Q: When does it bloom?
A: It blooms from mid-summer through early autumn (July to September), producing an abundance of showy, funnel-shaped flowers.

Q: How much sun does it need?
A: For the most abundant flowering, plant in full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily). It will tolerate light shade but will flower less.

Q: Does it attract pollinators?
A: Yes, the nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies.

Q: How should I prune it?
A: Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. It blooms on new wood, so pruning at this time will not sacrifice flowers. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and cut back by about one-third to maintain shape.

Q: Is it deer resistant?
A: It is generally not highly deer resistant. In areas with heavy deer pressure, plants may need protection.
