sotoma fluviatilis (syn. Pratia pedunculata) is a charming, fast-spreading evergreen ground cover prized for its dense mat of tiny, bright green leaves and profuse, star-shaped flowers. This vigorous, creeping perennial forms a lush, moss-like carpet of small, rounded to oval foliage that resembles Baby's Tears, spreading indefinitely by rooting stems. From late spring through summer, it is covered with a profusion of small, star-shaped, five-petaled flowers in two beautiful color forms: pure white and soft lavender-blue, each creating a delicate, ethereal, cloud-like display that attracts bees and other pollinators.
