Q: How far apart should I plant them for a screen?
A: For a traditional, separate column effect, space them 6-8 feet apart. For a dense, continuous screen, plant them 3-4 feet apart—they will eventually touch but maintain their individual columnar form.

Q: Why is mine turning brown inside or at the bottom?
A: This is usually due to: 1) Poor drainage/root rot (fatal). 2) Severe drought stress. 3) Cypress canker, a fungal disease common in humid areas (often fatal). Ensure perfect drainage and avoid overhead watering. Select canker-resistant varieties like 'Cleopatra' if this is a known problem in your area.
