Gallon refers to the size of the nursery container the plant is currently growing in (e.g. 1 Gallon, 5 Gallon, 15 Gallon).

A larger gallon size generally means:

Q: Will it damage my brick walls?
A: When established on sound, well-pointed masonry, it generally causes no damage. However, its adhesive pads can cling to and potentially deteriorate old, crumbling mortar or wooden surfaces. It's best to avoid letting it grow on wooden siding or painted surfaces.

Q: How do I control its growth?
A: Annual pruning is essential. In late winter, cut back any shoots growing into windows, gutters, or roofs. It can be cut back hard to renovate if it has become too large.
