Prunus x 'Mariposa', commonly known as the Mariposa Japanese Plum, is a beautiful, deciduous fruit tree prized for its large, deeply colored fruit and exceptionally sweet, crimson flesh. A natural hybrid discovered in Australia, it is also known as 'Improved Satsuma' and combines the best qualities of its Japanese plum parentage. In spring, it produces showy white blossoms, followed by large, reddish-purple plums with deep crimson-red flesh that is incredibly sweet and juicy. It is a midseason harvester, perfect for fresh eating or culinary use. With its manageable size and ornamental value, it is an excellent choice for home orchards and edible landscapes.
