Q: Does it keep its blue color in shade?
A: The blue color is best and most intense in full sun. In partial to full shade, the foliage will tend to be more greenish-blue or gray-green.

Q: Is it messy?
A: It is relatively clean. Like other fern pines, it may drop some foliage and small fruiting structures, but it is not considered a messy tree. Its non-invasive roots are also a bonus.
