Q: Is it more disease resistant than older varieties?
A: While not completely immune, 'Old Glory' is noted for having good resistance to powdery mildew, a common fungal issue for lilacs, especially when grown with good air circulation.

Q: What are its chilling requirements?
A: It shares the same high chilling requirement as other Syringa vulgaris cultivars. It is not recommended for mild-winter areas of Zone 9a where winters are consistently warm. It performs best in zones with cold winters (USDA Zones 3-7).
